SRC 1995 Summer Intern Program Announcement
Digital Equipment Corporation's System Research Center (SRC) invites
applications for our 1995 summer intern program.
WHAT IS SRC?
SRC is the largest of Digital's four research labs. It is located in
downtown Palo Alto, California, close to the Stanford University
campus. The laboratory consists of about 50 technical staff members
and 15 support people.
Current research at SRC encompasses several themes: programming
languages and technology, distributed systems, access to information,
user interfaces and graphics, base systems, theory, formal methods,
and hardware. In general, we try to do research that is relevant to
Digital's business, either now or in the future. This includes
anticipating new areas in which Digital will require competency in
order to remain competitive. We try to maintain a balance in the focus
of our projects, with some nearer-term and others long-term.
You can learn more about SRC by visiting our home page on the World
Wide Web at URL: http://www.research.digital.com/SRC/home.html.
THE SUMMER INTERN PROGRAM
Each summer, SRC hosts a dozen students for a three-month summer
internship. Each intern is matched with a host. The host and the
intern pick a project of mutual interest to work on for the summer.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Our interns are usually graduate students in computer science Ph.D.
programs who are interested in working on a project related to the
kinds of work we do. We occasionally have interns who are
undergraduates about to enter a Ph.D. program. International students
are eligible to apply.
HOW TO APPLY
Applying is easy. Here's all you have to do:
- Send a resume electronically to Allan Heydon, at heydon@src.dec.com.
He would prefer ASCII, but PostScript is fine too.
Indicate which of SRC's research areas most interest you. Finally,
be sure the resume includes the names and addresses of 3 technical
references, but ...
- Also arrange to have the three technical references sent
electronically to Allan at the above e-mail address. As with
the resume, he would prefer ASCII, but PostScript is fine too.
DEADLINES
Your resume and reference letters must be received by February 14,
1995, but the earlier the better. We will make all acceptance
decisions by the beginning of April, 1995 at the latest.
QUESTIONS?
If you have any questions about the intern program, please contact
