Abstract:
A classical problem in electrostatics, magnetostatics and heat
conduction concerns the solution of the Laplace equation in domains
consisting of piecewise homogeneous materials. While integral
equation methods have been shown to be very effective for such
problems, the classical approach can become ill-conditioned when the
dielectric constrast is high. We will present a new integral
representation which is stable for arbitrary contrast ratios and
easy to incorporate into existing boundary integral solvers.
