TAP Incoming is a TAP service that helps us quickly post announcements and information postings that we receive via email, USENET, or the WEB which are time-sensitive, do not fit in well with the current TAP structure, or that we just don't have time to add right away. These documents are be available to TAP users in TAP Incoming. A searchable, time-based index, TAP Incoming is a quick and easy way to find the latest news and announcements, older information you might still be interested in, or to find all announcements about a particular topic.
Some of the information will eventually make it into TAP, so there will be some overlap, but the flexible searching and indexing, and time-based structure provided by Lifestreams provides an exciting new way to access this information.
Here is an example of how the document search works. If you are interested in finding all Computing Research Association (CRA) documents which discuss rankings of schools, you would enter CRA ranking in the search field. This will return a list of documents (so far there is just one). You can click here to see the result of this search. You can choose to narrow a search or to start a new search by choosing one of the search buttons under the query.
We have provided several pre-defined searches at the top of the TAP Incoming page, including Business, Grants, Internet and Jobs to help you quickly find articles about these topics.
Icons beside the documents indicate the type of the document;
for example, a text document is indicated with the text icon:
, and links to web sites are indicated
with the web icon:

Please let us know if you have any comments or questions about this
new service.
