Open Thunderbird/Mozilla and select:

Tools

Account Settings

From the Account Settings window select Server Settings

 

 

Check off Use secure connection(SSL)

OK

 

Restart Thunderbird

You will be presented with this window

 

 

Select Accept this certificate permanently

OK

 

Thunderbird is now configured to use secure IMAP
