News and Events:

Dear YFSC Skaters and families,

With all this hot weather, are you as anxious as I am to get back to the ice? Here is some important information for you:

  1. Information and Registration Session, Sunday, September 9, 3:30 – 6:00 p.m. This is for both Saturday and Sunday skaters. Please come and register if you haven’t already, and be sure to invite your friends. Kaury Kucera will be there with skates from our purchase/buyback program.

  2. Saturday Schedule: On our first two Saturday mornings, September 15th and 22nd, all sessions will begin one hour earlier than normal. Practice Ice will be from 7:05 – 8:35, with Beyond the Basics from 7:05 – 7:35. Learn to Skate will be from 8:45 – 9:45. The third Saturday, September 29th, we do not have ice at all.

  3. Sunday Schedule: We begin on September 16th at the usual times: Learn to Skate 4:00 – 5:00, Practice Ice 5:10 – 7:50.

Membership and Registration forms are on the Membership page. If you cannot attend the Information and Registration session on September 9, please mail your forms and payment to Alice Fischer, our Treasurer, so that she will receive them well before we start on September 15th. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

On another note, we are still looking for session monitors. This is a paid position for someone to help us out during our sessions, including answering questions, signing people up, selling and monitoring pass cards, collecting guest fees, etc. If you are interested, or know someone who is, please contact Nancy Brittingham at nbrittingham@comcast.net.

Hope to see you soon!

Mary Lee
Membership Chair

Greetings Yale Figure Skating Club members,

We are happy to announce our program for the 2018-2019 skating season at Ingalls Rink in New Haven! We are scheduled to begin our fall session on Saturday and Sunday September 15 and 16.

We are again offering our Learn to Skate Program on Saturday mornings at 9:45 AM and Sunday afternoons at 4:00PM. Learn to Skate members must complete a YFSC Membership Application form for LTSUSA. Our talented coaches are making plans now to provide our LTS students with a high quality program in small groups.

This year our Practice Ice will be offered in 30-minute blocks. Yale FSC members will purchase Pass Cards with 10, 20, or 30 thirty-minute sessions. Cards will remain in the rink and blocks will be checked off as used.

Two specialty classes will be offered this fall: Beyond the Basics at 8:05 on Saturday morning for skaters in Pre-Free and Free-Skate, and an Ice Dance Group on Sunday evenings at 6:20 PM. These group lessons are for both children and adults at the appropriate level. The ice dances may be skated either solo or with a partner.

All forms are attached to this email for your convenience in registering. Do not delay in completing your forms so that you can join us this fall!

Thanks,

Nancy Brittingham, President
Yale Figure Skating Club

Membership forms for the 2018-2019 year are posted on the Forms page.
