A member club of the
United States Figure Skating Association
Register for the 2017-2018 Skating Season
Registration is now open for the Yale Figure Skating Club's 44th Skating Season. Skating begins on September 16, 2017 at Ingalls Rink in New Haven, Connecticut! Please see the letter from the Membership Chair for dates and times as well as information about changes in our sign-in procedures for practice sessions.
We look forward to another season of providing a high quality program for skaters of all ages and skating abilities. Our Learn to Skate USA program, endorsed by U.S. Figure Skating, provides beginning skaters with the fundamentals of ice skating while building confidence and skills. Our practice ice sessions provide time for more advanced skaters to practice their skills, work with a coach or prepare for their next program or competition.
Please help us publicize the club to your friends, colleages, and others in the community who might be interested in the skating opportunities it provides. You may print out and post the YFSC poster or simply forward it to others electronically.
Returning and new members can register by mail or by attending one of the in-person information and registration sessions at Ingalls Rink on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10:00 am–noon, and Sunday, Sept. 10 from 4:00–6:00 pm.
All members must complete an Emergency Information and Medical Release Form.
Learn to Skate participants complete a new form for Learn to Skate members that combines membership in the Yale Club, required membership in the national LTSUSA organization, and registration for Learn to Skate group lessons.
We are implementing a new ticket sign-in procedure to streamline our practice ice sessions. Subscribers will pick up blue tickets on their first day of skating for the amount of ice time that they have registered for. Each skater should sign in and place their ticket in the ticket box before entering the ice. Tickets may be used at any practice ice session during the fall term. Guests will continue to pay the guest fee directly to the session chair or use white guest tickets.
The Membership page has further information for new and returning members.
Is your family new to skating? Do you want to give your child the right start? Proper equipment is essential for positive early experiences and long-term skating success. To meet the demand for new families and quickly growing feet, the YFSC created the Purchase-Buyback Program for figure skates and gear last year. Given the success in the 2016-17 season, the YFSC is excited to expand the program this year.
